Co-ordinated breeding schemes have been set up where anyone keeping a species has the opportunity to inform a co-ordinator of the numbers kept and bred. The co-ordinator can then put members in touch with one another to arrange sales, exchanges and purchases to promote the building-up of viable populations of the target species in aviculture's protected breeding environment.
