The WFS Committee

The club is run by a committee of members elected to take on different roles. The club officers and lay committee members were elected at the club's AGM (annual general meeting) on Sunday 9th June 2019 at our South Eastern branch venue. This up-to-date list includes those commmittee members who have also taken up co-opted positions in the absence of the 2020 and 2021 AGMs, cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic; their details and core functions are set out below.

Chair Vacant To agree the agenda, to preside at club meetings, and to ensure that business is properly conducted.
Vice Chair/ Events Co-ordinator Adrian Walls photograph of Adrian Walls To provide cover in the absence of the Chair/ To promote the WFS at various sales days round the country.
Secretary Vacant To convene all Society meetings, to keep a written record of the minutes and correspondence, and to work closely with the President, Chair and Treasurer in providing leadership to the Society.
Magazine Editor/ Membership Secretary/ Species Booklets Editor Neil Bickell photograph of Neil Bickell To act as editor of the society's quarterly magazine, The Waxbill, including liaison with contributors through to production of the magazine/ To act as the central point for membership queries and deal with subscriptions for existing and new members/ To act as editor and the principal contact for queries relating to the society's species' keeping and breeding booklets available to purchase.
Treasurer Andrew Poonian photograph of Andrew Poonian To conduct the financial business of the club and to provide a financial report for the AGM.
Web Master/ Breeding Records Officer Darren Smith photograph of Darren Smith To act as the central point for website queries and update the website as appropriate/ To liaise with members to obtain annual breeding returns in order to provide contributions to The Waxbill, the society's webite, as well as to the general aims of the society.
Publicity Officer Mark Eaton photograph of Mark Eaton To act as the principal contact for the Society for promoting the society's activities with current and potential members, as well as with the wider media.
